History
The Village Hall was built in 1957 by the County Council
to replace the old Memorial Hall, a First World War army hut, erected on land gifted
for the purpose in Meadow Cottages behind the present Nursery School. The hut was
purchased with money from a Thanksgiving Fund raised by the village in memory of
the Little Kingshill men who had fallen in or survived the First World War. The site
on which the present Village Hall and the First School now stand was given to the County
Council by the Trustees of the Memorial Hall, with a substantial donation for the building
work from the Thanksgiving Fund. Chiltern District Council also contributed to the
construction of the Hall, which is unique in that it is the only village hall in the
county owned and maintained by Bucks County Council (BCC). The Trust Deed (called Licence)
between BCC and the Trustees grants the village use of the Hall on a 99-year lease,
due to expire in 2056.

The Hall is owned by Buckinghamshire County Council and is used Monday to Friday during term time
by Little Kingshill Combined School. The Hall is held in Trust by the Trustees of the Memorial Community
Centre, Charity no. 300292, and managed by the voluntary Little Kingshill Village Hall Management Committee.
All proceeds go to the provision and improvement of facilities in the Hall, which is maintained to a high
standard for the benefit of all who use it.
